Tips for making the most of the Q&A section in consulting interviews

Leverage the Q&A section

Do you run out of questions at the end of the interview? Prepare to truly engage. The Q&A section is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the firms.

How to Effectively Handle the Q&A Section

  • Prepare a comprehensive list of questions about the firm, the office culture, the daily work, etc.

  • Address questions throughout the process and add more questions if new doubts arise.

  • Aim to save at least four questions for the interviews. Ideally, one per interview.

  • Ask questions and listen carefully to the answers.

Key points for the Q&A

  • If you have already asked all your questions, mention who you have spoken with and conclude the interview appropriately.

  • Focus on the conversation, and don't get lost thinking about the case. This is a very common mistake, and as an interviewer, it's perceived as a waste of time.

  • We discourage using this time to ask for feedback about the interview, as it offers no benefit. Please don't do this; it will only distract you.

Use the Q&A section to demonstrate your genuine interest and better understand the firm, thereby improving your chances of success.
